Our Mission

At Compassion Catering, we believe that food is more than just sustenance; it is a powerful tool for connection, kindness, and community. Inspired by the teachings of Jesus, our mission is to serve with a heart of gratitude, bringing people together around the table to foster fellowship and nurture relationships.

Every meal we create is crafted with love and care, reflecting our commitment to use our gifts for the greater good. We prioritize locally sourced ingredients, ensuring that our dishes are not only delicious but also support our community’s farmers and food artisans.

Whether you’re hosting a wedding, a corporate event, or a community gathering, Compassion Catering strives to create an inviting atmosphere where guest feels welcomed and valued. We believe in the joy of sharing meals and moments, and we work to make each event an extraordinary experience filled with warmth, laughter, and connection.

As part of our dedication to service, we work with non-profits and programs that extend beyond just catering. Through initiatives such as charity events, we aim to give back to our community, sharing blessings with those in need and embodying the spirit of compassion.

Join us as we celebrate the simple joy of gathering together over a meal—where gratitude, love, and service meet at the table. At Compassion Catering, we don’t just cater; we create memorable experiences that nourish both body and soul.

Our Journey

Meet Nazeerah (a.k.a. Nazzy)

Nazeerah, known affectionately as Nazzy, is the Owner and Co-Founder of her thriving business. Originally from California, she moved to Idaho to be closer to college friends, embarking on a journey that has been nothing short of divinely orchestrated. Later to move to Spokane. She has countless ways to share her story, but at her core, she attributes her transformation and renewal to the grace of God.

Nazeerah views her culinary and business career as ordained by the Lord Jesus Christ, Yeshua. This profound realization guides her work each day. Despite recognizing her imperfections, she believes that it is through these very flaws that God makes all things possible.

Her travels throughout Asia and Mexico led her to discover her true purpose, embracing a heartfelt commitment to serve others and spread the good news. For over eight years, Nazeerah has cultivated a deep passion for community and service in the Pacific Northwest, particularly in Spokane, Washington, where she has rooted her endeavors in mindfulness and love.

With more than 10 years of experience in customer service, she has worn many hats—from busser to host, back of house, server, and bartender—each role equipping her to connect authentically with people. Beyond the restaurant scene, Nazeerah’s heart has driven her to volunteer at an orphanage in Mexico and actively participate in relief efforts during the devastating Typhoon Ruby in the Philippines.

As her business embarks on a new direction, Nazeerah strives to foster trust and connection while sharing the incredible love of God. With so much unfolding in her life, she often reflects on the truth that it is God who moves mountains, guiding her journey every step of the way.

Meet Nicholas (a.k.a. Nick) – Co-Founder

Nicholas, affectionately known as Nick, infused Compassion Catering with a wealth of culinary expertise during his time as Co-Founder. His culinary adventure began humbly in an organic bakery in Montana and expanded through vibrant cooking festivals in the Bayous of Louisiana to charming French bistros. Nick’s journey also led him to the fairgrounds of Seattle, where he participated in a Malaysian fair.

After a decade of travel and work in kitchens across the United States honing his craft, Nick returned to Spokane with renewed enthusiasm, eager to share his passion for food, people, and sustainability with the local community. He deeply understands the importance of connecting with guests on a personal level. Reflecting on missed opportunities in the past, he eagerly looked forward to applying his creativity and care to fulfill guests’ culinary visions.

Nick’s commitment to establishing a connection with guests on a chef’s level allowed him to truly understand their preferences and restrictions, crafting memorable experiences that consistently exceeded expectations. His favorite motto was: “HOPE not EXPECT, because when you expect, you have already failed.”

Throughout his time with Compassion Catering, Nick, along with his team, witnessed the exclusion and lack of attentiveness given to individuals with dietary considerations in larger establishments. This insight fueled their shared vision of inclusivity and connection through food, care, and mindfulness.

As of December 2024, Nick has left to pursue a new career path. While we will miss him dearly, he remains a huge staple of Compassion Catering, and we are immensely appreciative of all his hard work and dedication.
